Easier setup and management of Logical and Virtual Switches/Networks
The configuration and setup of Logical Networks and Switches are hard for administrators to learn and understand.
There is need to simplify this and also provide a graphical overview for how things are connected on a logical level. (the current build in view is not good enough).

When creating a logical network, it's not very clear the differences between the 3 first options. Port uplinks are easy to miss because they are on the same gui that virtual ports, and there's not a defaul one. Visual representations would help a lot in understanding the design.

Long time ago I suggested to add more graphical representation of the Logical Switch configuration. It always helps if you see the effects of your settings in a picture. I don't mean the silly graphs that VMM currently has to show the network configuration.

Definitely, it's got to be as clear as physical networking (ok advanced networking). We have to appreciate we've brought complex network admin and setup to people who would not ordinarily have setup networks. I agree with adding more views and wizards while retaining flexibility.

The VMM Network Builder Addin should be added to the product. But not all of that.
We need also a topological view of networks and interfaces and how they correlate.
Here you see what I mean and how VMware did it. http://www.mikelaverick.com/wiki/index.php?title=File:Screen_Shot_2013-11-27_at_09.38.51.png
And when you drill in deeper you should see which machine is connected to which VLAN and switch. Visualized also with configurable colors for VLANs. In this case you would layout the network topology in a mixed view for physical network (Host adapter) and virtual networks (VNICs). For most people pictures are better then thousand words. -
Can you provide top 5 items you want to easier setup and management?

Simplify the setup through an additional wizard like the VMM Network Builder Add-in.

Please keep the great flexibility for the network management. If you simplify the setup but suffering the flexibility that would not be great.
