please add the ability to multiselct and do "anything" aka shutdown move and so on , having to select a vm at a time for some functions is very time consuming121 votes
Thank you for your votes and support. We have updates to the Multi select Ui in VMM 2012 R2 UR6. For more information on UR6, please go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3050317/.
This idea overall is still under review.
Add the ability to control failover and enable replica from VMM without the dependency/cost of Azure Integratio151 votes
this idea is being under review. Once we have more information, we will be updating the status.

Today we are not able to fully manage Hyper-V Hosts and Clusters from the SCVMM Console. For some settings we still need to do it from the local host. It would be great to have SCVMM to support all the Hyper-V and Cluster features in just one console.113 votes
We have reviewed the idea in great length. However, due to the large scope, we broke the top common 4 sub-idea into a separate ideas. If your idea is not being reflected as part of the 4 sub-ideas. Please subscribing your idea separately.
We do appreciate your candidate suggestions and hope you would help us further going forward.

We're discussed this but I want to say it again: it's VERY annoying to click Repair->Ignore every time...112 votes
There must be complete monitoring of Hyper-V Replication from the VMM Console, as it is in the Hyper-V Manager.
Currently VMM does not understand/recognize the replica VMs after the installation of UR5.
The VMM administrators must be able to have real-time monitoring of Hyper-V Replication and all other related tasks (Pause, Resume, Resynchronize, etc.) that are availble in the Hyper-V manager Console.
There must be a column against the Vm on the VMM Console which should be describe that a VM is Primary or Replica.71 votes
Addin functionality to add a VM to a DPM protection group on creation (Template). Make it fairly simple like the ASR integration. View protection group / DPM server in console without custom fields.
You could have a backup group for DPM servers in fabric computers, and assign them to host groups.
If a cluster or host group is protected by DPM, install the agent onto new hosts as they are added.
Fix the issue with using the DPM and VMM module at the same time maybe.66 votes
Bring back or Incorporate Virtual Machine Servicing Toolkit to VMM for Template Updating Orchestration
VMST used to provide a easy way to install patches to offline VMs and templates on a schedule. It worked well for me and saved time on template updating. Would love to see it come back in some GUI form as it was before.21 votes
Today we are able to prevent virtual machines deployments on the same Host in a cluster with availability sets, automatically.
In case of deploying VMs in two datacentre (or two Cluster) there is no such mechanism.
It would be nice if availability sets can be set up for preventing VMs are located in the same datacentre or hostgroup.4 votes
it would be useful that all the storage (iscsi, smb, fc etc) presented to a host and/or cluster and tagged with a classification to be summed and present a summary in Fabric>Storage>Classification and pools (size, available capacity, etc etc).
Now event the storage is tagged with a classification... no data is presented.6 votes
Unfortunately only one ASR subscription from one recovery vault is attachable into SCVMM. AS such, protected VMs can only be saved into a storage vault, that resides in the same datacenter as the recovery vault. In case of a global deployment, where SCVMM administrates hosts and VMs around the globe with appropriate site definitions, a failover would force users to connect to Azure VMs situated in another region as themselves. This situation also applies to the MARS agent around the globe replicating VMs to the same, single recovery/storage vault.10 votes
sometimes i need to use the console view to connect to the VMs desktop. But the console view in VMM is not as good as the viewer in FCM or Hyper-V manager.
Please make the console view the same as in the other management tools (i. e. Insert Integration Services disk, Start, Stop VM, etc.)59 votes
This was top 4 common items from End-to-End Hyper-V and Cluster Management in the SCVMM Console Idea. Please provide specific details on this idea.31 votes
As Hyper-V nodes hardware is almost the same DC it will be very useful if we can control advanced network adapter configurations from VMM. As Jumbo Frames, Buffers, vRSS for Mnagement OS adapters, RSS and VMQ settings are the same in large DC for every host.
These settings could be controlled by VMM Logical Switch and Uplink Port Profiles.28 votes
Request is under review for implementation
Today we badly miss a Comprehensive patch managemt nsolution for the datacenter. SCCM is focused on single system patching, VMM just Patches the fabric and has many shortcomings. Today we use custom Scripting Solutions that are hard to mantain.
VMM is the place where to implement the datacenter patching, we need:
- maintenance Windows
- ability to set different environments (test, pilot, poduction at least)
- ability to set relationships between systems
- great compliance reporting
- straightforward tshooting logging and tools
- ability to have pre and post custom actions
- service dependencies (40 votes
Deliver all network configuration commands as a whole so that the host can process them even if the commands will momentarily disconnect the host from the network. This is most useful when provisioning new hosts that only have two adapters that will be part of a team. Currently the team and switch commands are delivered and THEN the commands for the virtual interfaces, these later commands fail as the host has dropped off the network. This leaves the host without network connectivity and the job fails. Many hosts are using converged network fabrics and being able to provision them without jumping through several steps would be very beneficial.

We use Private VLANs in our Hyper-v Clusters but currently all the management of Private VLANs in all modes (promiscous, isolated, etc) have to be done by using Hyper-v powershell commandlets. We would like to be able to manage this completely through VMM.14 votes
Currently, Static IP Address Pools include most of the IP configuration options one might need--such as available address range, default gateway, DNS servers, etc. I see many customers using static routes in their environments, especially for "special" infrastructure networks such as BMC/IPMI addresses. This currently requires manual configuration for affected machines after they get IP address from pool.2 votes
Removing objects from VMM quickly becomes a nightmare with all dependencies. To quickly get an overview of the hierarchy and dependencies a VMM Dependency Report would be very helpful. Also interactively deleting objects taking into account dependencies could be an improvement here.10 votes
We are planning on improving the deletion workflow for VMM networking artifacts.
Do you folks have specific examples where the workflow is sub-optimal? (apart form deletion of networking artifacts)
It would be great to have a tool where I could add wim file, point it to internet, select updates, and the result would be fully patched VHD. (I know there are multiple things which already exists, but this would be really handy as the tools are not straightforward - converteindowsimage.ps1,dism, sccm...)0 votes
We have VMs with a Self-Service owner. When a different user creates a checkpoint on that VM, within the checkpoint properties, it shows that the checkpoint was "created by" the owner, not by the user that actually created it.
Can we have it so the Checkpoint creator's name is in the "created by" field instead of the VM owner?1 vote
