When migrating Linux VMs from VMWare we observed that VMM does not autodetect the operating system as it does with Windows VMs, and so the OS is listed as Unknown. I wrote a script to query the key-value pair for OSName and then appropriately label the VM in VMM, but we feel that this should be an included feature.3 votes
We are using this for enabling Device Guard/Credential Guard on VMs not for nested virtualization.3 votes
Currently we are using SMB scale out file storage with a HyperV clusters. We constantly get "?" when we look at the SMB File share storage in the cluster properties. There is no explanation given as to what the issue is. Would be nice to get some possible reasons for the status to help with troubleshooting2 votes
Currently (1801) we are unable to remove optical media from a running VM although it is supported and doable from the failover cluster manager.
Please fix that.2 votes
Should be able to configure LCM for tenant or service provider https pull server. Optionally Should allow DSC configuration to be included as a custom resource and compiled and placed locally during configuration process.1 vote
When I select "Start the virtual machine after deploying it" in the Migrate VM Wizard, the VM is not started. I have not tried powershell and I only have 1 install to test with. All Hyper-V targets are 2016 fully patched. Source hosts are 2012 R2.1 vote
For configuring and set up Shielded VM & guarded Host, there is online guide available in below link..https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Shielded-VMs-and-Guarded-44176db3/view/Discussions
which is very helpful..
But,during the process of creating vm shielding data file, there is no logs generated and detailed information for the errors ShieldingDataFileWizard.exe .. it is very difficlut to troubleshoot..
This is one of the cases, like this there are many steps that needs to executed for using this shield VM feature..
I recommend it would be great to have logs for these wizard and document of known issues.. and troubleshooting steps
... withtout having to use the SCVMM console, just the viewer !1 vote
